Toomai Quintet presented by United in Sound

A program of newly arranged works explores the relationship that the US jazz scene has had with the Latin American diaspora, and how the two traditions have intertwined and influenced each other. The concert features Toomai’s original arrangements for string quintet of music by (or popularized by) Duke Ellington, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Paquito D’Rivera, Milton Nascimento, La Lupe, and others.
